Host Your Event
Host Your Event at the Workhouse
Whether it is a social or a business event that you are planning, the Workhouse Arts Center will provide a unique setting to help you create an event as distinctive as it is memorable. The campus-like design of the Workhouse is comprised of classically inspired buildings, arched walkways, and a spacious, grassy quad area. The historic buildings, with their Colonial Revival-style architectural detail and rich history, provide artistic inspiration that will create an amazing experience for wedding receptions, reunions, corporate events and retreats, parties and other social or business events. The Workhouse Arts Center is conveniently located in Fairfax County, north of Occoquan and just off of I-95 on Route 123, at the corner of Ox Road and Lorton Road.
McGuireWoods Gallery (maximum capacity 200)
The McGuireWoods Gallery has beautiful hardwood floors, a sound system and an array of artwork that changes periodically. The McGuireWoods Gallery can accommodate approximately 160 for a seated dinner with a dance floor and 200 for a cocktail style event.
Vulcan Gallery (maximum capacity 160)
The Vulcan Gallery has more of an urban feel and can accommodate approximately 125 for a seated dinner and up to 160 for a cocktail style event.
Rizer Pavilion (Tent) available seasonally (April – November)
The Rizer Pavilion is an open air venue with a 300-seat capacity. The Pavilion comes equipped with side walls, an audio system and a raised wood stage ideal for musicians, performers or a ceremonial configuration. There is a dedicated electrical circuit in the Pavilion and a limited number of lighting instruments hung for decorative and stage lighting. The Rizer Pavilion is perfect for corporate events, performances, wedding ceremonies and receptions.
The Quad, which was designed in the early 20th century to promote positive social interaction, is bordered on two sides by arcades that connect the studio buildings. The area creates an open, fresh air ambiance for outdoor celebrations, weddings, dinners or receptions. The Quad area can be rented during times the Workhouse is closed to the public. The Workhouse can arrange the rental of tables, chairs, linens and any other equipment that your event needs. The Quad space does not have a kitchen facility, so caterers must be totally self-sufficient when operating on the Quad.
