Our signature "Stars on Sunday" concert series is back and better than ever! Featuring a lineup of performances that showcase the diversity of talent and culture in Northern Virginia. Concerts are free to attend and are perfect for families, a special date or a relaxing afternoon of music and dance. Celebrate the spirit of summer with us! Enjoy visiting our Farmers Market, which is also open on Sundays from 1-5pm, and pick up locally grown fruits, veggies, meats and more!

Each month (and sometimes twice a month) Cool Cow Comedy's headliners and featured performers take the stage in the W-3 Theare. Host and Comedian Rahmein Mostafavi (who has performed stand-up as such venues as DC Improv, Richmond Funny Bone and Caroline's on Broadway) leads regular sold out shows, making Cool Cow a staple of the entertainment options in Lorton! On August 7, headlining comedianStewart Huff performs at the Workhouse! Join us for an evening of laughs courtesy of Cool Cow Comedy.

Show times: Saturday, August 15 at 8pm and Sunday, August 16 at 2pm Inspired by historic accounts of the notorious Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire of 1911, this new musical theatre work in-development shares an intimate perspective of this tragic event. The musical score is drawn from contemporaneous American music from the turn of 20th century to fully immerse the audience in the era. The New York based creative team has chosen the Workhouse as their DC area venue to present a workshop-style staged reading in advance of its World Premiere.

This weekend, the Workhouse performers will whisk us back in time, to a good old-fashioned rowdy Music Hall! Laughter and songs (both vintage and modern songs that evoke the mood) will fill the air in an homage to the famously unique brand of entertainment known as the Music Hall. Each of our award-winning performers bring years of experience in musical theatre, opera, cabaret and comedy shows! Showtimes: Friday and Saturday at 8pm, Sundays at 6pm

Mise en Dance puts the creative process in center stage by opening up the process of creating dance.  All are invited to join the creative process, through discussion, as the Beth Elliott Dance Group and artists from the Small Plates Choreography Festival Series rehearse and choreograph a dance in the Workhouse Arts Center galleries during its monthly 2nd Saturday Art Walk. The three open dance rehearsals will culminate with Small Plates Choreography Festival performance on Friday, November 14, in the Workhouse W-3 Theatre.

Join the Potomac River Jazz Club for an afternoon of outstanding jazz music in the Rizer Pavilion! Three bands will be featured during this event: The Jefferson Street Strutters, The Capital Focus Jazz Band and The Conservatory Classic Jazz Band. General admission tickets start at $25, with discounts for seniors, military, PRJC members and Workhouse Arts Center members. Students with valid ID and children are admitted free from charge.
