Background
Traci Oberle is a member of the National Collage Society and the International Society of Experimental Artists. She holds signature status in the Virginia Watercolor Society and is a juried member of Potomac Valley Watercolorists.
Philosophy
Oberle is a mixed media collage and assemblage artist. Her work features natural and manufactured objects collected from many sources. Family, friends and other artists often donate their personal belongings. You may see scraps of fiber, toys or broken jewelry embedded in the canvas. Many items used in the artwork are picked up off the ground. Cleaning and keeping the materials sorted and organized is a key component of the process. Traci works in an improvisational manner using acrylic mediums to bind and build a textural surface, with the purpose of creating a rich showcase for her trove of discards.
