Counting the Days - Exhibition

  • McGuireWoods Gallery W16 9518 Workhouse Way Lorton United States (map)

Celebrate the opening of our new exhibit Counting the Days with us. This installation recreates a moment in time from our past as a former prison site – the Lorton Correctional Complex – from the memories of guest curator Karim Mowatt. A thoughtful recreation of what life was like existing within the confines of Q Block.

5:00 - 6:00 PM
View the installation in the Lucy Burns Museum (building W2 on the Workhouse campus), and chat with Mowatt and museum staff.

6:30 - 8:00 PM
Join Mowatt and museum director Katie Crooks (at the McGuire Woods Gallery in building W16) for a reception with cash bar. They discuss how this exhibition came to fruition, and then Mowatt and his former cellmate Lamar Muskelly look back at their time living together at Lorton.

This program is funded in part by ArtsFairfax.

Following this event, enjoy a lively evening on the Workhouse campus.
