Magnificent Distances by the DC Street Photography Collective
The political arena often dominates the narrative surrounding the nation’s capital. Stereotypical images of power-hungry politicians give an impression that the District is a dark and serious place full of evildoers and over achievers. This exhibition is a collaborative effort to humanize our hometown of Washington, DC.

Homecoming Concert 2024
Performers from past Workhouse productions take the stage in homecoming reunion and celebration of the Performing Arts at Workhouse Arts Center. The concert will feature a ‘house band’ of musicians that have performed ‘behind the scenes’ at the Workhouse Theatre.
Learning at Lunch - Stoney Lonesome
Tucked away in a wooded area off of Ox Road is a small plot of land that was set aside during the early years of the prison for a very specific purpose – Stoney Lonesome Cemetery.
South County Pyramid Show

Second Saturday Art Walk April Celebrating Cherry Blossom Season and the Japanese Culture
Spring is in the air! Join us for a festive Second Saturday art walk: watch a cherry blossom origami demonstration; participate in a cherry blossom painting Make & Take; learn about Japanese woodblock prints; enjoy a Japanese tea tasting, and more.
Beyond-NOVA Community College and GMU Juried Exhibition
Beyond is a collaboration between Northern Virginia Community College and George Mason University to exhibit juried foundations artwork that moves beyond boundaries to explore the multifaceted notions of freedom, play, and experimentation.
Singularity- GMU Junior & Senior Exhibition
Singularity is a showcase of George Mason's School of Art Junior and Senior art students. Students were invited to submit proposals which asked them to think critically about their place in the world as they prepare to enter society as professional culture-makers, and to show work that challenges systems permanently altered.

Dance "Hafla"
Join us for a Celebration of Dance at the Workhouse. The “Hafla” will include performances by Workhouse Art of Movement Belly Dance students, a visiting Belly dance troupe, Desert Jewels from Norfolk Virginia, Brandonia, and English Country Dance.

Second Saturday Art Walk January 2024
Come on out to this free event to view beautiful works of art including glass, ceramics, paintings, photography, textiles, jewelry and more. Most items in the studios are available for purchase. Our talented artists will be there to chat about their works and processes. Galleries, gift shop, and the Lucy Burns Museum will be open extended hours.
Annual Student and Instructor Exhibition
The annual Student and Instructor Exhibition surveys work from our prestigious course instructors, faculty, and their students. Explore the numerous paintings, drawings, glass and clay works created in our Visual Arts Education program.
Kinetic Candy
Kinetic Candy explores the works of a new animation collective of the same name. While Kinetic Candy’s members are animators by vocation, this exhibition explores how the artists take time to continue their artistic practices outside of their work - through traditional media and even more animation!
