Free Events at the Workhouse
The political arena often dominates the narrative surrounding the nation’s capital. Stereotypical images of power-hungry politicians give an impression that the District is a dark and serious place full of evildoers and over achievers. This exhibition is a collaborative effort to humanize our hometown of Washington, DC.

Performers from past Workhouse productions take the stage in homecoming reunion and celebration of the Performing Arts at Workhouse Arts Center. The concert will feature a ‘house band’ of musicians that have performed ‘behind the scenes’ at the Workhouse Theatre.

Fast Eddie & The Slowpokes are guaranteed to get you up on your feet! The Slowpokes playlist is inspired by classic blues material from Chicago to West Coast Swing, Motown to Muscle Shoals, and all the rock n’ roll in between.

The Air Force Strings consists of 17 active-duty musicians performing a wide range of musical styles, from classical symphonic selections and Broadway show tunes to classic rock, bluegrass, and patriotic compositions.

Raised in the vibrant music scene of the DC area, flutist, vocalist and composer Alex Hamburger was immersed in the world of art from her earliest years. After exploring other musical landscapes and studying at prestigious institutions , Alex has returned to DC with a renewed sense of purpose and a desire to make a resounding impact.
Country Roads is a small, stand-out ensemble comprised of instrumentalists and vocalists from across the Army Band.
