EqualiTEA

  • W16, McGuireWoods Gallery 9518 Workhouse Way Lorton, VA 22079 (map)

In celebration of Women's History Month, the Lorton Prison Museum featuring the Lucy Burns Gallery is hosting a morning EqualiTEA to honor both the important women throughout history and the women important to the suffrage movement. Tea and tea parties are deeply ingrained in the history of the woman’s suffrage movement, from planning to fundraising. Tea enthusiast Nancy Rodriguez of Cup & Crown shares the history of tea from England to the US and how the suffragists incorporated it into their cause, while participants enjoy a variety of teas and breakfast pastries*. A special tour of the Lucy Burns Museum, with its exhibition commemorating the suffragists who were imprisoned at the Workhouse in 1917, follows the tea.

Early bird tickets ($39) available before February 14, 2025. Regular tickets ($45) on sale until 5PM on Friday, February 28, 2025.

Program participants must be 12 years of age and older.
