Join us for a series of free outdoor concerts at Workhouse Arts Center, celebrating the rich diversity, culture, and community spirit of Fairfax County. Each performance brings a unique sound to our campus—from soulful acoustic sets to energetic world rhythms—all under the summer sky.
Pack a picnic, bring a blanket or lawn chair, and settle in for an unforgettable evening of music and community. Delicious food and beverages will also be available for purchase.
Make it a full night out—arrive early to explore our galleries, artist studios, and creative spaces, and experience the vibrant heartbeat of the Workhouse before the show begins.

Concerts take place on select Saturday evenings in June, July, and August. Performances begin at 8:00 PM and typically run for 60 to 75 minutes without intermission. Thanks to the support of the Fairfax County Park Authority and generous community sponsors, most concerts are free and do not require reservations. Please note that special engagements on June 18 and July 2 do require ticket purchases.
The Mount Vernon Nights series is presented in partnership with the Mount Vernon District Supervisor’s Office, Fairfax County Park Authority, Fairfax County Park Foundation, and sponsors including Wegmans, Dominion Energy, the Virginia Commission for the Arts, and Workhouse Arts Center.

Ample free parking is available throughout our ADA-accessible campus.

Yes! All concerts, including stand-up comedy opening acts, are curated to be suitable for attendees of all ages.

Yes, leashed, well-behaved dogs are welcome. We kindly ask that owners clean up after their pets. Service animals are always permitted.

Folding chairs will be available on-site, similar to those used at outdoor weddings. Guests are also welcome to bring their own lawn chairs or picnic blankets for added comfort.

Guests may bring food and non-alcoholic beverages to enjoy during the event. Please note: due to Virginia ABC regulations, outside alcoholic beverages are not permitted. Select snacks and beverages will be available for purchase at the event.

Yes. Restrooms will be accessible in Building W3, which will remain open throughout the concert and for at least 30 minutes after the event concludes.

These spaces typically close by 6:00 PM. We encourage guests to arrive early if they wish to visit galleries or studios. On Second Saturdays, buildings remain open until 9:00 PM.

Concerts take place outdoors under the tented Rizer Pavilion in our central quad. Guests are welcome to enjoy seating under the pavilion or bring lawn chairs and blankets to relax around its perimeter.

In the case of light rain, performances will generally proceed as scheduled. In the event of heavy rain, storms, or strong winds, concerts may be postponed or canceled. Weather decisions are typically made by 6:00 PM on the day of the event.
