George Mason University Juniors & Seniors, Spring 2025 Showcase

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

While we often think of appearance in the form of our own image in the mirror, it can also be the way that we present and exist in public. “Appearance” can signal a sudden arrival, and it can also apply to objects and ideas, disconnected from the human figure. Play with the self-portrait and the still life, or evoke a spectral apparition.

People and objects aren’t always what they appear to be. For this show, we encourage you to turn the abstract into the concrete and the concrete into the abstract, or to make the invisible visible. Using your preferred medium, examine the ways we “see” and challenge us to both perceive and appear differently.

On View: March 29 - May 3, 2025
