Election Day is swiftly approaching! In honor of the suffragists who fought valiantly for women’s enfranchisement, the Lucy Burns Museum is hosting an Autumnal EqualiTEA. Tea and tea parties are deeply ingrained in the history of the woman’s suffrage movement, from planning to fundraising to lobbying. Tea enthusiast Nancy Rodriguez of Cup & Crown shares the history of tea from England to the US and how the suffragists incorporated it into their cause, while participants enjoy a variety of teas and breakfast pastries. A special tour of the Lucy Burns Museum, with its exhibition commemorating the suffragists who were imprisoned at the Workhouse in 1917, follows the tea.
