Second Saturday: Mindfulness and Inner Peace

This month’s Second Saturday is an exploration of mindfulness and inner peace. Join us for a unique Create and Sip Neurographic Art class, learn about self-regulation from an inspirational speaker; join in on a meditation presentation - and many more relaxing, informative and fun events. As always, a vast collection of beautiful artwork will be on display for viewing and purchasing, including exhibits from our monthly featured artists.

SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES

  • Saving Claire Documentary 5-6 PM, Muse Gallery, Building 16 First Floor

    • Learn how to prevent falls during Fall Prevention Week with a 30-minute documentary followed by a 30-minute Q&A

  • Bucket Golf 5-8 pm, Campus Quad

    • A fun twist to the classic game of mini golf! Balls and clubs will be rented at the Gift Shop in Building 16
      9 Holes, $5 per person/club

  • Workhouse Campus Tour 5-6 pm, Lucy Burns Museum ($10 per person, $5 for 12 and under)

  • Exhibition Reception 6-8 PM, McGuireWoods Gallery, Building 16 Second Floor

    • Life’s a Stich x4 Reception

  • Try Me Flameworking Demo 6-8 PM, Building 7

  • Raku Firing Ceramic Demo 6-9 PM, Building 8 at the Kiln Yard

  • Live Caricature Drawings 6-9 PM, Building 10, price based on request

  • Make & Take 6-9 PM, Building 10

    • Wrap a ring or charm with wire and beads or pearls ($15)

  • Inspirational Speaker Julie D’Ann, Rizer Pavillion

    • 3 Success Secrets to Self-Regulation 6:30 pm

    • Daily Flow Via My Time Within 7:30 pm

  • Create and Sip: Neurographic Art 6:30-8:30 PM ($40), Campus Quad near LOVE Sign (inclement weather, inside Building 16)

    • Create abstract images that encourage new positive thought patterns and an awareness of the wholeness of our being

  • Art of Movement Presentation 7 pm, Rizer Pavillion

    • 30-minute meditation and guided breathing by AOM yoga instructor Debby Rotter

  • Lynn Goldstein Artists Talk 7 pm, Building 5

  • Kathleen Best Gillmann Artist Talk 7 pm, Building 9

    • Learn about Workhouse Artist Kathleen Best Gillmann and her emotional connection to her artwork
