Special Tour: Prison Reimagined

  • Workhouse Arts Center W16, Vulcan Gallery, 1st Floor (map)

Step into a powerful and deeply moving exhibition Prison Reimagined and see it with a new outlook during this special exhibition tour with Janie Ritter from the Justice Arts Coalition. This transformative collection of visual and written works, curated and created by individuals currently incarcerated, offers a rare and intimate perspective on the decades-long story of mass incarceration in America. Through stunning artistry and candid storytelling, the exhibition critically examines U.S. presidents' records on criminal justice while exploring the lived realities of those impacted by the carceral system. Ritter was involved in every step of bringing this exhibition to fruition and shares behind-the-scenes stories of the making of the Prison Reimagined.

Free, no registration required.

This tour occurs just before the matinee performance of Clyde’s at the Workhouse Arts Center. Clyde’s is play centered on the experiences faced by those dealing with reentry in our country. The two programs pair well together. Learn more about Clyde’s and purchase tickets here.
