Docent-led tours

Explore the 91 years of prison history and the 6 months that changed history and led to the passage of the 19th amendment granting women the right to vote. Youth, seniors, locals, travelers and groups of all kinds will walk away with deep knowledge and rich context about history and progress in the United States. 

  • Tour Cost: $10 per person.  50% deposit due two weeks before tour date.  Balance due at time of tour. 

  • Tour Length: Tours last 60-90 minutes and include a tour of the restored cell block in the back of the museum.

  • Tour Group Size:  Minimum 10 people.  Maximum 20 (COVID restriction).  Please contact museum staff for accommodations of groups over 20.  

  • Tour Times:  Tours may be scheduled for any day of the week between 9am and 3pm.  We cannot schedule tours on federal holidays or large event days at the WAC.  

  • Health & Safety Measures: Restrooms, hand sanitizer available.

Parking and Museum Location: The museum is located in building W-2 which is located in the South West corner of the Workhouse Arts Center Complex.  Please park on the South side of the campus and follow the sidewalk between building W-3 and W-4; once you reach the arched walkway turn right.  The museum entrance will be at the end of the walkway.  Parking is free and plentiful.
