The Workhouse Arts Center is proud to present Kinetic Candy, an exhibition exploring the works of a new animation collective of the same name. After years of working together, layoffs happening, and with nowhere to go, some of the former employees of a Baltimore-based animation studio decided to form their own collective - Kinetic Candy! Kinetic Candy is based around connectivity, creativity, and pure fun, creating animations in a myriad of genres, from comedy to experimental, short form, and (one day) feature length presentations.

This exhibition features the current artwork of some of the founding members: Zoe and Hannah Nowoslawski, Selin Büyükcengiz, Austin Fleck, Marcus “Memphis” Jones, and Mark Reid. While Kinetic Candy’s members are animators by vocation, the artists take time to continue their artistic practices outside of their work. In addition to traditional media, almost all the members of the collective see their work in animation continue at home – a testament to their creativity and dedication to their profession.
