W-10: "Early Spring Blossoms" by Jane Johnson
Jane Johnson always wanted to have a beautiful garden. Living in her house for 37 years, she worked on her vision, expanding her flower beds to the point they were full. One fall, Jane was working in her yard splitting plants and had a run in with a nest of yellow jackets, after over 50 stings she is now very allergic to bees and yellow jackets, greatly limiting her time in her garden.
As her garden is quite full, she can now sit back and enjoy the fruits of her labors in more then one way. When Jane heads out to her studio in the spring and summer, she literally wade through a sea of flowers that line her front walk. Jane can't help but be influenced by them as they are pretty much on her face.
In this show, Jane is sharing her love of gardening and the beautiful colors and textures that surround her with the viewer. While you can't smell them, you can still enjoy their fleeting beauty captured permanently on her canvas.
