Workhouse Arts Foundation Appoints Anne O’Dell as Vice President of Programs and Operations

The Workhouse Arts Foundation, Inc. is excited to announce that Anne O’Dell has been appointed as the Vice President, Programs and Operations. She is an experienced, and multi-faceted professional, and she will begin her new role on May 2, 2022. 

Ms. O’Dell has more than 14 years of experience with a multitude of cultural entities. Most recently, she worked for the Marian Liebowitz Artist Management Group, but prior to this organization, she has worked for the Office of the Arts in the City of Alexandria, the Arlington County Cultural Affairs Department, the University of Oregon, American University, and the George Mason University Center for Global Studies.  Her proficiencies (project management, consensus building, program development, strategic planning, community engagement and assessment/evaluation) will benefit ALL of the Workhouse’s cultural programmatic areas. She is also a published author, “The Nonviolent Organization: How to be kind at work and how work can be kind to the world,” as well as a Hatha Yoga Teacher. Ms. O’Dell’s educational credits include a Bachelor of Arts, Music, from the Emory & Henry College, a Master of Art, Voice, from the George Mason University, and a Master of Art, Arts Management, from the University of Oregon.

Leon Scioscia, President / CEO of the Workhouse Arts Foundation, said: “The Workhouse Arts Center is so pleased, and honored, to have Ms. O’Dell join the team. She possesses the skill sets needed to help the Workhouse’s Executive Team take this organization to the next level. This Executive Team (Vice President – Finance, Vice President – Advancement, and Vice President – Programs and Operations) will work with me on the overall Redevelopment / Revitalization Campus Program, the Strategic Plan, the Partner Program, and the Presenting Program. She will be directly responsible for the following programmatic areas: Art of Movement, Education, Lucy Burns Museum, Military in the Arts, Performing Arts, Special Events/Rentals, and Visual Arts and will work with the department leadership to drive strategy and vision while guiding the team into a more organized, defined, and unified approach to programs and operations.”
