Background
Suzanne Clifford Clark is a representational painter and photographer with a deep passion for capturing mood and emotion through her work. Primarily an oil painter, Suzanne has been represented by six galleries throughout her career and has exhibited her work in two solo shows.
In recent years, she has expanded her creative process by incorporating film photography, using a 4x5 film camera to enhance her artistic vision. This integration of traditional photography with painting allows her to explore new perspectives and deepen the storytelling within her work.
Philosophy
Suzanne’s artistic approach is rooted in process, composition, and expression. While she works in oil paint, her focus extends beyond achieving an exact likeness—she strives to convey the spirit and mood of her subjects. Each brushstroke is an exploration of form and feeling, capturing the essence rather than simply replicating reality.
By embracing both painting and photography, Suzanne creates work that invites the viewer to engage emotionally, offering a glimpse into the interplay between light, shadow, and atmosphere.
