Curious about all of the seemingly abandoned buildings on the Workhouse campus? Wonder what they were used for when our site was a functioning prison? Wonder no more. Museum Coordinator Jay Loy leads a campus walking tour and explores our history as a prison site. The tour starts and ends at the Lucy Burns Museum, and participants are invited to view the museum’s exhibitions following the tour – which is open for extended hours during Second Saturday Art Walks.

This is a reoccurring tour scheduled for 5PM every second Saturday of the month and at 10AM the first and third Thursdays of the month. The tour is lead at a leisurely pace through our grounds on paved surfaces, totaling a distance of approximately a half mile. Tours happen (light) rain or shine and participants are encouraged to dress appropriately with sturdy, close-toed shoes.
