Monthly Featured Artists
The Workhouse Arts Center has more than 70+ resident visual artists who occupy studios on campus, as well as a collective group of off-site artists who display their work in the Arches Gallery. Every month, in each building, the work of individual artists or a group of artists is featured in a special exhibition that runs for the entire month. During our Second Saturday art walks our featured artists (and many other studio artists!) are on campus to talk about their work and processes. And, if you love what you see, you can take it with you, as most art on campus is available for purchase!

W-6: "Portraits & Flowers" by Nanette Catigbe
In this exhibition, Nanette showcases two of her favorite subjects, the human form and flowers. The choice of medium depends on how it can best convey the expression and uniqueness of the subject. Not only does she paints on the canvas, but also on bags and edibles. Her award-winning painted cakes have proven that her artistry goes beyond the canvas.
W-10: "Exploration" by G. Jackson Tanner
Though it appears similar to Pointillism, G. Jackson Tanner’s personal experience with mass-production printing is more closely linked to my new application methodology. This work was produced by hand using the physicality I have to use with the use of basic painting tools; neither automated presses, nor were pneumatic processes utilized.
W-8: “Whimsey in Uniform” by Pamela Esenmann
Imagine little dragon people as soldiers, and as creatures dressing up. Pam Eisenmann "Pocket Warriors" are inspired by dragons in South Korea, where she briefly lived.
W-5: "WaterWORKS" by Laura Bruce
Water has always been a powerful, soothing, life-force for Laura Bruce due to its massive size, turquoise, blue colors and soothing sounds. For this years show Laura Bruce thought it would be fun to paint different scenarios of water for some refreshing escapes.
